Comfort Select 6 Inch Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Review

Overall Rating
Recovery Time

The Comfort Select markets itself as being a frugal alternative to Tempurpedic mattresses and other memory foam products which are meant to not only give their owners a great night’s sleep, but increase their back, shoulder and neck health through the particular materials used in production. Despite such marketing, the Comfort Select can also be a great choice for those with no health issues who simply want a more comfortable bed to sleep in. It uses a large amount of high-density memory foam and gives folks exactly what they’re looking for in high-quality memory foam mattress without paying the typical price accompanying such products. Whether you’re looking to improve your health or simply want a durable piece of high-density memory foam, the Comfort Select may be just what you need. With that said, let’s go into some more specifics.

I gave the firmness a rating of three out of five. The reason for this is that memory foam tends to be anything but firm, though the high-density foam that this particular mattress is made of tends to be the firmest of all memory foam. If you’ve grown accustomed to spring mattresses, you’ll likely find the Comfort Select to be extremely soft; I’d most aptly compare it to an extremely soft spring mattress. If you’ve grown accustomed to the average memory foam mattress, on the other hand, you may find the Comfort Select to be rather firm. All in all, the mattress is firm enough to not only preserve back health, but even improve it. At the same time, it’s soft enough that the average owner will likely find it extremely comfortable. You’re truly getting the best of both worlds here when it comes to the firmness department.

Recovery Time

The recovery time on the Comfort Select is great. Much like the Tempurpedic and other therapeutic memory foam mattresses, you’ll find the Comfort Select’s elasticity to be perfect. This is the type of mattress that used to be in commercials wherein the owner would place a glass of wine on their bed while jumping on it, just to have the glass stay upright all the while.

However, I couldn’t justify giving the mattress’ recovery time a five out of five rating being that those who have only used spring mattresses in the past will likely find the Comfort Select’s recovery time to be lacking, considering that memory foam just can’t outmatch traditional mattresses in this regard. Although, relative to nearly every other memory foam mattress on the market, the recovery time is about as good as it gets. You can expect the mattress to snap back to baseline in less than a second after pushing your hand into it.

Memory foam can never be as resistant to cuts and scrapes as a traditional spring mattress. However, high-density memory foam (the type that this mattress is comprised of), is about as resistant as it gets within the world of foam mattresses. Memory foam mattresses of all types are also very easy to clean. This means owners may be less inclined to throw their mattress out due to a buildup of sweat, skin cells, bacteria and other things which often inhabit old mattresses.

Because of the ease with which it can be cleaned, as well as the durable foam it is made out of, the Comfort Select gets a well-deserve five out of five rating for its durability. Not only will this save money in the long run, it lowers the amount of time one must spend maintaining their new mattress.

Warranty Information

A ten-year warranty seems to be the standard when it comes to memory foam mattresses. As such, many new and potential owners may be pleasantly surprised to find out that the Comfort Select comes complete with a twenty-year warranty, ensuring your new mattress will last you a quarter of a lifetime. When you couple the mattress’ warranty with its outstandingly low price relative to its overall degree of quality, you’ll find this purchase to be a frugal one. The warranty is also easy to use, being that the folks down at Comfort Select seem to be more than happy to live up to their word in the event that a mattress doesn’t work as intended.

Overall Summary

What most sets this mattress apart from similar products is its price. For such a model, one might expect to pay over one thousand dollars for the purchase. Considering that it sometimes sells for below two hundred, it’s hard to argue that the Comfort Select doesn’t have a great price-to-quality ratio. It’s therapeutic, it’s durable, it’s comfortable, it comes at a very agreeable price and it has a twenty-year warranty. If you haven’t yet, it might be time to consider buying the Comfort Select for yourself.
